Our client, a UK retail banking chain and part of a larger group of companies, offers accessible products such as credit cards, insurance, travel money and personal loans that reward loyalty to the group’s diverse businesses. The bank has more than 2m active customers.
In a world where customers expect to be able to manage most of their lives through mobile applications, the ability to use financial services products in the same way is key. Cloud technology enables large financial organisations such as banks to deploy such products rapidly, at scale, and at the same time to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Our client asked Infinity Works to work with them to build a range of banking services in the cloud, and to improve its digital financial services offering by using cloud-based technologies. The broad aims of the engagement were:
- To devise products that help the bank’s customers manage their finances and access the information they need in real-time through browser and mobile applications linked through to the bank’s back-office systems.
- To reduce the bank’s reliance on legacy infrastructure, and to lower the associated costs.
- To use new cloud-based technologies to support a growth strategy while ensuring compliance in a heavily regulated industry.
